Biography
Mark Strong (née Marco Giuseppe Salussolia ) was born on August 5, 1963 in Islington , a district of London , into an Italian-Austrian family [4] . His mother officially changed her son's name so that it was easier for him to communicate with peers [5] .
He studied at the Royal Holloway University of London, later graduated from the theater school Bristol Old Vic [6] .
The first role was played in the television series " The main suspect " , where he worked with the famous actress Helen Mirren [7] .
Among the last notable roles are Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes , Taal Sinestro in The Green Lantern , Frank D'Amico in the movie Kick-Ass , Sir Godfrey in Robin Hood , Jim Prideau in Spy, Get Out! " , Merlin in " Kingsman: The Secret Service " and MI6 Head Stuart Menzies in the movie " The Imitation Game . "
In most films, Strong is almost unrecognizable, because he changes his appearance for each role: in Stardust and Tristan and Isolde he has long hair, in Robin Hood he is bald, while in the films Rock and Roll and the Set of lies on his head ordinary hair.
He voiced the captain of the Order of the Ultramarines Titus in the video game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine , Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn in the game Eisenhorn: Xenos , and General Silan, the protagonist of the prologue, in the game Total War: Rome II .
In 2014, Mark received the Laurence Olivier Prize in the nomination "Best Actor" for his role in the play " View from the Bridge ."
For the same role in 2016, he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play .
Personal life
Mark Strong lives in northwest London with his wife Lisa Marshall and two sons: Gabriel (born March 2005 ) and Roman (born October 5, 2007 ) [8] .
Strong is a close friend of actor Daniel Craig , who is the godfather of Strong's youngest son, Roman [8] .
