Trafalgar ( Arabic: رأس الطرف الأغر ) is a cape on the Spanish coast of the Atlantic Ocean ( Costa de la Luz ), near the city of Cadiz and the Strait of Gibraltar . The name is of Arab origin. The modern pronunciation is slightly different from the original - 'Tarf al-Gharb' ( Arabic. طرف الغرب ), which means “western cape”.

On October 21, 1805, the Battle of Trafalgar took place at Cape Trafalgar, in which the British fleet destroyed the fleets of Spain and France united by Napoleon I.
On the cape in 1860 a lighthouse was built ( Spanish: faro de Cabo Trafalgar ), which has a height of 34 meters and rises above the sea by 51 m.
