Biography
He studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts (from 1821). During his studies at the Academy he was awarded with medals: small silver (1830), large silver (1831), large silver (1832) for the program “Jupiter and Mercury, visiting Philemont and Bavkidu” , small gold (1833) for the program “ Hector reproaches Paris for that he, having stayed with Elena , did not participate in the battle against the Greeks under Troy . ” He was awarded a large gold medal for the statue of the “Russian youth playing svayku ” (a plaster specimen is in the museum of Alexander III ). A.S. Pushkin wrote about this statue of N. Pimenov, her pair, “A Young Man Playing Grandma”, a greeting poem (“A Young Man, Full of Beauty ...”). Cast from cast iron, both of these statues are placed in front of the Tsarskoye Selo Alexander Palace, near the colonnade. In Rome, Loganovsky sculpted the marble figure of "Abbadon" and the group "Young Kiyevlyanin" (gypsum), which brought him the title of academician. Upon his return, the sculptor made two bas-reliefs for St. Isaac's Cathedral : “The Angel's Evangelism to the Shepherds” and “The Killing of Babies” (in the southern portico). In Moscow, he, from September 10, 1839 , together with the sculptors PK Klodt , N.А. Romazanov and others, he began to manufacture for the external walls of the temple - a monument in the "Russian-Byzantine" style - the Temple of Christ the Savior (almost 40 years old) built colossal relief images and figures of saints and angels (1847-1849), distinguished by their beautiful design and modeling power . In 1854 , Loganovsky was appointed professor of the Academy of Fine Arts.
He died in 1855 in Moscow , was buried in the Vagankovsky cemetery .
