“ Flora rossica ”, or “ Flora of Russia ” (full name Lat. Flora rossica seu Stirpium imperii rossici per Europam et Asiam indigenarum descriptiones et icones ) is a collection of the Russian plants code of 1784 and 1788 by Peter Simon Pallas .
The standard designation for a book title when used in nomenclature quotes is Fl. Ross. (Pallas) [1] .
General information
The scientific work Flora Rossii ( Latin Flora Rossica ) was created by a natural scientist, academician of the Petersburg and Berlin Academies of Sciences , professor of natural history Peter Simon Pallas (1741-1810). A unique collection of the set of Russian plants was published during the reign of the enlightened empress Catherine II in two issues, in 1784 and 1788 .
The multifunctional reference book has not yet lost its value for people of science who are professionally engaged in botany and biology .

The Flora of Russia comprehensively presents the environmental conditions for the growth of certain plant species, the zonality of their distribution, and the characteristics of the fauna. The handbook contains two descriptive parts of the set of Russian plants in Latin that make up a single volume, and a hundred illustrations to them.
Design
Illustrative material “Flora of Russia” is executed by the most famous engravers of the 18th century . All engravings are hand painted. Illustrations were created during the heyday of the botanical drawing .
The names of the plants are given in Russian and Latin.
Reprint
In 2007, a facsimile reprint of the two-volume “Flora of Russia” in genuine leather binding was undertaken, preserving the original format and high quality images.
