Fritz Basserman ( German: Fritz Bassermann ; June 13, 1850 , Mannheim - October 3, 1926 , Frankfurt ) is a German violinist and music teacher .

Many years a teacher at the Frankfurt Conservatory of Hoch , where among his students were, in particular, Paul Hindemith and Leopoldo Casella ; in 1923 - 1924 led the conservatory together with Bernhard Zekles (until the election of the last rector).
In 1882 he participated in the premiere of the String Quintet No. 1 of Johannes Brahms [1] . In 1887 - 1897 the violinist of the Frankfurt trio, in which James Quast and Hugo Becker played with him; also performed in a string quartet under the direction of Hugo Heerman .
Basserman’s wife, pianist Florence Basserman (nee Rothschild), died in 1942 in Frankfurt, unable to withstand deportation [2] . Their son Hans Basserman also became a violinist.
