Biological Description
Pemphigus - perennial and annual terrestrial, rarely epiphytic grasses with alternate or leaves collected in sockets , growing in water, in swamps , in humid places.
The flowers are zygomorphic, bisexual, solitary or collected in racemose or spike - shaped inflorescences .
The fruit is a single-cavity box of spherical or ovoid shape. Seeds are small with poorly developed endosperm .
