Biography
Born on February 29 (according to other sources - February 28 [1] or February 27 [2] ) in 1932 in Rykovo (now Enakievo, Donetsk Region , Ukraine ). Childhood was spent in Slavyansk, Donetsk region.
During the war years , he and his family were evacuated to Bukhara . After the war, he moved with his family to Kharkov .
From 1946 to 1947 he studied at the Kharkov vocational school of communication. Then he worked as a mechanic to repair equipment at the Kharkov Telegraph , he sang in amateur activities and studied at the Kharkov Music School (from 1968 - named after BM Lyatoshynsky ). His studies were interrupted by service in the army — he was called up to the fleet and served from 1951 to 1955 in the Pacific Fleet . During the years of service he sang in the song and dance ensemble of the Pacific Fleet. After being discharged, he returned to his old place of work and continued his studies. After graduating from the music school in 1959, MA Krasnovaya, who also went through an academic school of operatic vocalist, worked at the Kharkov Theater of Musical Comedy , then as a soloist with the State Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine Donbass .
Since 1960 - soloist of the Kharkov Philharmonic , from 1963 - Lugansk Philharmonic , from 1974 to 1992 - the Crimean Philharmonic and artistic director of the ensemble "Crimea". Since 1992 - artistic director of the Philharmonic for the holding of festivals and special events.
In 1969, for the first time, he performed on television in a festive concert on Miner's Day with the song “ Dark Barrows Are Sleeping ”.
The repertoire of the singer includes more than 400 songs by Soviet and foreign authors.
He toured abroad ( Germany , France , Poland , Colombia , Peru , Venezuela , Ecuador , Cuba , etc.).
In 1984 he graduated from the Faculty of History of the Simferopol University. M. V. Frunze (now the Crimean Federal University named after V. I. Vernadsky ).
Member of the Art Council on variety art at the Ministry of Culture of the USSR from 1970 to 1986.
Released 8 audio albums of the “Male Conversation” series, laser disc “Red Roses”.
Member of the CPSU [3] . In 1994 he headed the social-political organization "Motherland", which advocated the re-establishment of the USSR [4] .
Yuri Bogatikov died on December 8, 2002 in Simferopol (oncology of the lymph system). He was buried in the cemetery "Abdal".

Memory
- On February 28, 2004, an architectural memorial complex to the memory of Yuri Bogatikov was opened in Simferopol .
- In Kharkov, they plan to install a memorial plaque to the singer [9] .
- In Saki , the music school is named after Yuri Bogatikov.
- In Kerch , the city cultural center is named after the singer.
- In Crimea, an annual festival of young performers is held in memory of the singer’s talent.
- A memorial plaque with a bas-relief of Yuri Bogatikov is installed on the wall of the Crimean Philharmonic Society.
