Biography
Godwin began his career at the club " Gabros International " [2] . The first European club was the team of the third Polish league BBTS (Bielsko-Biala). There Godwin spent the 2000/01 season. In the summer off-season of 2001, he trained with the team of the first league GKS Katowice . But on the field in the matches of the season 2001/02, he did not come out. In winter, he moved to the club "Karpaty" (Lviv).
Since the beginning of 2002 he has been playing in Karpaty. After the 2003/04 season, when the club went down in class, most of the key players (there are quite a few foreigners among them) left the team, and the club’s president, Peter Dyminsky, persuaded Godwin to stay in Lviv [3] . The 2004/05 season “Karpaty”, renewed by young local footballers, finished in 5th place, and in the next they took the 2nd place and returned to the Higher League . Nigeria's head coach Avgustin Eguavon came to Lviv for the semi-final match of the Ukrainian Cup against Dynamo . However, the midfielder did not play for his team after that, although he played one match in 2003. Samson Godwin many seasons was one of the key players of the Lviv club in the center of the field. He performed at number "7".
In July 2008, the player turned to the leadership of Karpat with a request to prepare documents on the change of citizenship - the Nigerian decided to get a Ukrainian passport.
In the first half of the 2008/09 season, in the position of defensive midfielder, Godwin ousted from the young Andrei Tkachuk . In December 2008, the leadership of "Karpat" put the player on the transfer. At the end of January 2009, information was made public, according to which the player signed a contract with the Israeli club Maccabi (Tel Aviv) [4] . However, the football player did not fit the club and continued to prepare for the season along with the youth team Karpat. In February 2009, the player held a friendly match in Turkey for the Kazakhstani club Shakhtar (Karaganda), where he was watching [5] [6] .
I spent the first half of 2009 on loan at Shakhtar (Karaganda). In June 2009, he returned to the "Carpathians" [7] . In 2011, he was loaned to Volyn , but he could not stay there for a long time and soon returned to Lviv. In June 2012, he signed a contract with the Belarusian club “ Minsk ” for which he played until the end of the year [8] . In April 2013, he signed a contract with the club "Slavia" from the city of Mozyr, the agreement is calculated until the end of the 2013 season [9] . On April 16, 2013, he made his debut for a new team in a match against his former club “Minsk”, replacing him at 77 minutes [10] . In July 2013, he returned to Lviv "Carpathians" [11] . In January 2014, he announced his retirement and expressed a desire to work as a functionary in the Lviv club [12] . Initially, it was planned that Godwin would become a breeder, however, as of April 2015, his main role is to work with young people [2] .
