Memoirs and Quotes

The most popular place on Presnya for rallies, meetings, evenings and concerts was the so-called Big Kitchen of the Prokhorovka Factory - the same room where Vladimir Ilyich Lenin stood in front of Presnensky workers and where the theater of his name is now located in the reconstructed building. We have chosen this large kitchen for our evenings.

The day before the concert, we put up posters at the busiest intersections, and on the day of the "premiere" - and at the gates of the factory. Just in time, when one shift ended and another began, Pavel Kanunnikov, our treasurer and cashier, began to sell tickets. The trade went briskly: Pavel was already booming all over Moscow as a famous forward, and everyone was flattered to get a ticket from the hands of “Kannunikov himself”!

By the beginning of the concert, the hall was full. [one]

Andrey Starostin :

Paul had a peculiar, football figure. Of medium height, brown-haired, with regular facial features, he had some imbalance in the ratio of body and legs. Narrow in the shoulders, he was endowed with exorbitantly developed hips. Maybe from here its amazing stability in the game. I just don’t remember him lying on the ground. In all power clashes, he deftly applied the impetus and emerged victorious. His famous “replanting” of offenders in the fight for overs has always been applauded. Here he is preparing to take the flying ball on horseback, and the defender, say, decided to join the fight and win the fight: - Think, they say, Kanunnikov. He jumps up and running above Paul, not worrying about pushing the striker in the back. Suddenly, an imperceptible movement by the hip, some kind of instant sweep, and the defender from the height of his take-off dives headfirst through Kanunnikov, who was slightly bent. Always spectacularly, always to applause, especially friendly because the defender who had crouched to the ground was also fined by the judge as a violator of the rules.

But, of course, this was not the main thing in Kanunnikov’s football talent. Inimitable was his manner of playing, which brought the aesthetic pleasure to the viewer, because he did his job on the field gracefully and naturally. He was so easily off his feet, so imperceptibly applied deceptive movements and walked so quickly with the ball to the goal that he could not but arouse the admiration of the audience. The breakthroughs ended with very clear, biting and accurate punches - “eve”, with a quick and short swing.

Paul finished playing ahead of time. In a fight, his arm was knocked out of his shoulder joint. After the course of treatment, he entered the field - the injury repeated. Then she went into a habitual dislocation. More than once in the midst of the match, he called out one of the partners and asked right there on the field to set him the arm that had fallen from the joint. [2]
