Career
Club
He began his football career at the most titled club in the country, Skonto . Already in his first season he became the champion of Latvia and the owner of the Cup. In 1997, he moved to Lipetsk Metallurg , in which he took second place in the First Division . However, only the tournament winner entered the Premier League . In 1998 he returned to Skonto and made a gold double with his team, winning the Championship and the Cup of Latvia. The following year, Valentin made his second voyage to Russia, which turned out to be not very successful - his Shinnik (Yaroslavl) flew out of the Premier League , and Lobanev returned to Skonto once again and won the Latvian championship twice. The third coming to Russia took place in 2002, when Lobanev again ended up in Metallurg , this time Krasnoyarsk . During the season, the club experienced serious financial problems, as a result of which the head coach and several leading players left him. However, he stayed and finished playing until the end of the season. However, the flight to the Second Division could not be avoided, and the player himself for the third and last time returned to Skonto. As it already happened, in Latvia Lobanev again became the champion of the country, after which he left for Zaporozhye Metallurg . Having returned to his homeland in 2005-2007, he played out in the Venta and Jurmala clubs.
