Story
Sergeant Bilko is a brilliant crook, wit and incorrigible debater. He is the most unreliable person in the district, and at the same time everyone loves him ... Well, not all, of course. It is hard to love a man whose hand you find in your pocket.
Sergeant Bilko has one sworn enemy, one friend and one lover. Ernest Bilko manages the garage at the military base. He has the special gift of “diagnosing” broken cars without opening the bonnet. In addition, Ernest finds money everywhere ... by smell.
Sergeant Bilko deeply respects US Army soldiers and officers. He believes that these patriots have done a lot for their country and have every right to have fun in their free time. Sergeant Bilko of his own free will assumed the responsibility of a mass entertainer for retired officers and turned Fort Baxter into a gambling center.
Communicating with this unusual person, you can be sure of only one thing: if Sergeant Bilko made a bet, no doubt, he will be the winner.
Major Thorne is Sergeant Bilko's worst enemy. Thorne was offended by Bilko because of an incident in the past - when they served together at the same military base. Since Thorne tried to stop Bilko from earning money by all means, he accidentally got into trouble and was expelled from the unit to Greenland. Having got out from the north and rising to the rank of major, Thorne arrives with a check in the unit where Ernest Bilko serves and begins to take revenge on him. Thorne is trying to disrupt the work of the "flying tank", which is in charge of the sergeant and even rob his beloved woman Rita from Bilko. But comedy is comedy, and the power of good in this case is on the side of the cunning sergeant.
