In the 2012 presidential election, the canton residents cast 32.0% of the votes of Marine Le Pen in the 1st round against 27.8% of Francois Hollande and 21.0% of Nicolas Sarkozy , Hollande won in the 2nd round of the canton, receiving 55.9% (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 24.8%, Segolen Royal - 22.8%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 50.4%).
