History

Until 2015, the canton included the communes:

Ancienville , Aramon , Viviere , Wheeler-Cotreux , Wheeler-Elon , Dumplot , Corsi , Quiol , Larny -sur-Oton , Lonpon , Luatre , Mongober , Norua-sur-Urk , Puiseux-en-Retz , Retei , Susi , Typhontaine , Wagny-en-Valois , Favrolles , Fleury .

As a result of the 2015 reform [1], the composition of the canton was changed. It included the abolished cantons of Neuilly-Saint-Fron and Ulchi-le-Chateau .

Policy

In the 2017 presidential election, the canton residents cast 35.6% of the vote in the 1st round of Marin Le Pen versus 17.3% of Jean-Luc Melanson and Francois Fillon and 17.1% of Emmanuel Macron ; in the 2nd round, Le Pen won the canton, receiving 52.8% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Marine Le Pen - 28.3%, Nicolas Sarkozy - 25.9%, Francois Hollande - 23.0%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 52.8%).

Since 2015, the canton has been represented on the Council of the Department of En by Mayor of Ville-Cotrere Frank Briffaut and Martine Pigoni (both of them National Front ).
