Until 2015, the canton consisted of communes:
Hazi-sur-Marne , Bezeu-Saint-Germain , Bello , Blem , Bonney , Braille , Bures , Verdilly , Glan , Marigny-en-Orxois , Mont-Saint-Per , Nel-la-Montagne , Nozhantan , Fossuá , Château Thierry , Shierry , Epoch Bezut , Epières , Essays -sur-Marne , Etampes-sur-Marne , Etrepille .
As a result of the reform of 2015 [1], the composition of the canton was changed.

Policy
In the 2017 presidential election, residents of the canton gave Marine Le Pen 33.4% of the votes in the 1st round against 24.0% from Emmanuel Macron , 22.0% from Jean-Luc Melenchon and 20.6% from Francois Fillon ; in the 2nd round, the canton was defeated by Macron, who received 55.5% of the vote. (2012 Round 1: Francois Hollande - 26.7%, Nicolas Sarkozy - 24.2%, Marine Le Pen - 23.0%; Round 2: Hollande - 52.9%).
Since 2015, the canton in the Council of Aine department is represented by the First Vice-Mayor of the City of Château-Thierry Bruno Bovois (Bruno Beauvois) ( Radical Left Party ) and the Mayor of Brale Michelle Fuselier (Michèle Fuselier) ( Socialist Party ).
