In the 2012 presidential election, residents of the canton cast 31.0% of the votes of Marine Le Pen in the 1st round against 24.7% of Nicolas Sarkozy and 23.2% of Francois Hollande , in the 2nd round, Sarkozy won, receiving 52.1% (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 29.8%, Segolen Royal - 20.5%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 57.7%).
