History

Until 2015, the canton included the communes:

Beckini , Boen-en-Vermandois , Brancourt-le-Grand , Croix-Fonsom , Montbrein , Montigny-en-Aruez , Premont , Ramicourt , Seboncur , Serenis , Fontaine Uthert , Frenois-le-Grand , Etav-en-Bokyo .

As a result of the 2015 reform [1], the composition of the canton was changed. It included the abolished canton of Le Catlet .

In the 2017 presidential election, canton residents cast in the 1st round of Marine Le Pen 40.2% of the vote against 17.2% of Jean-Luc Melanson , 15.9% of Emmanuel Macron and 14.0% of Francois Fillon ; in the 2nd round, Le Pen won the canton, receiving 59.9% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Marine Le Pen - 29.3%, Francois Hollande - 26.2%, Nicolas Sarkozy - 22.5%; 2nd round: Hollande - 53.7%).

Since 2015, the canton has been represented on the Council of the Department of En by Mayor of the commune Premon Michel Collet ( Socialist Party ) and Vice Mayor of the commune Leocour Monique Sébastijan ( Communist Party ).
