Municipal Symbols
On November 24, 2006, the Assembly of Deputies of the Shorshel rural settlement approved the municipal symbols of the settlement. The author of the coat of arms and flag of the municipality is V. A. Shipunov. The flag of the rural settlement is entered in the State Heraldry Register under No. 2823.
The emblem of the settlement depicts a thin wavy golden belt threaded into the ear of a silver figure formed of two keys with a single eye, the keys diverging from the common eye upward obliquely, and accompanied by a silver falcon at the top, holding a golden straight equilateral cutting cross in its paws.
The flag is a blue cloth with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, carrying images of figures from the coat of arms of the settlement.
Blue (blue) color combined with silver means victory. The image of the falcon, in whose paws a golden star shines, is not accidental here, because the Falcon is the call sign of A. G. Nikolaev , the third cosmonaut of the USSR, a native of the village of Shorshely.
Two silver keys with a single ear symbolize the springs, the bright keys of the native land, and the wavy golden strip piercing the eye is the Civil River, on which stands the cosmonaut's native village. Silver is a symbol of nobility, purity, justice, generosity. The azure (blue) field of the shield is a symbol of beauty, honor, glory, love of the motherland, clear sky. Gold represents the sun - the source of life and wealth, both material and spiritual.
Currently, the presence of keys on the emblem and flag is considered by many to be illogical and erroneous. Even if we accept the incorrect but familiar explanation that the name of the village came from the phrase “Shură çăl”, which means “White Key”, in the sense of a clean or bright key, then the key means the source of water, but not the key to the lock - the word, being a simple homonym.
