In 1909 he graduated from the Marine Engineering College , then until 1914 he served on the ships of the Baltic Fleet . In 1910 - second lieutenant ; December 6, 1913 promoted to mechanical engineer lieutenant [2] . In 1915-1917 - in the General Directorate of Shipbuilding. Since 1917 - the destroyer mechanic “ Mechanical Engineer Dmitriev ”. In 1918-1919 he worked in the Liquidation Council of the Maritime Department, and in 1920 - in the Main Marine Technical Administration.

In 1924, after graduating from the Naval Academy, he was appointed senior mechanic of the destroyers Garibaldi and Engels . From 1924 to 1927 he served as assistant to the flagship mechanic of the headquarters of the naval forces of the Baltic Sea.

From 1927 until the end of his life he taught at the Naval Academy: teacher; since 1934 - senior lecturer of the department of peak mechanisms; Since 1938 - Head of the Department of Steam Turbines of the Faculty of Military Shipbuilding. Professor (since 1935).

The main works are on the theory and design of steam and gas turbines, especially offshore ones. He developed a unified method for calculating rapidly rotating disks, impellers and other parts of turbines. The author of more than 200 scientific papers.
