Deutzia [2] ( lat. Déutzia ) is a genus of perennial woody plants of the Hydrangeaceae family .

Botanical Description
Deciduous or evergreen shrubs , sprawling or upright, of different heights from 0.5 to 4 m, surviving up to 25 years.
The main distinguishing feature of the action is abundant and prolonged flowering in late spring - early summer. Their white, pink or lilac-purple bisexual flowers are odorless and collected in small inflorescences .
The fruit is a box .
Meaning and Application
There are many decorative garden forms and varieties of actions with simple or double flowers. Most often these are low bushes of 1.2-1.8 m.
In Culture
In the first half of the 19th century, Japanese and Himalayan forms of action were introduced into the culture through Dutch merchants. Chinese actions appeared in European gardens only at the end of the 19th century. The famous French dendrologist Maurice Vilmoren was associated with many missionaries who collected seeds for him in the mountainous regions of China. Thanks to his nursery, European botanists in the 80–90s of the XIX century. many types of action became known. So, Deutzia vilmorinae entered the wide culture.
