The bucket node is a fast-decoupling node .
| Bucket node | |
|---|---|
| Decoupling | easily |
| Application | descent |
| disadvantages | extremely unreliable |
This knot makes it possible to lower an object down (for example, a bucket) and take the rope back. It also allows you to take the rope with you when descending. The climber can go down its root end and jerk the long running end to untie the knot tied at the top. It is successfully used by climbers, firefighters and builders. [one]
