Martin Jetpack is a personal ultralight vertical takeoff and landing aircraft . Developer - New Zealand private company Martin Aircraft. Propellers - small diameter propellers in annular channels rotated by an internal combustion engine . First introduced July 29, 2008 at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, an event hosted by the Experimental Aviation Association in Oshkosh , Wisconsin . According to the FAA classification, the device belongs to the class of ultralight ( Ultralight ) and does not require a pilot license to fly.

Unlike other jetpack devices, the Martin Jetpack is the first ready-to-use product. Project development took 27 years. The two-stroke ICE of the aircraft runs on gasoline . According to calculations, Martin Jetpack can reach speeds of 100 km / h, climb to a height of 2.5 km and stay in the air for about half an hour with a full tank.
