IEEE 802.1 is a working group created to create and develop standards for interconnecting 802-LAN / 802-MAN architectures, and other wide area networks. deals with security, general network management and lower layer protocols of the OSI model.
The 802.1 working group includes four active target groups: Interworking, Security, Audio / Video Bridging, Data Center Bridging.
