The works of Chiande Wiley refer to the paintings of Titian and Tiepolo , include a number of styles - from French Rococo to the art of city streets.
For the majority of his career, Wiley has created large, vibrant, patterned paintings depicting young African-Americans dressed in the latest hip-hop fashion. Theatrical poses and surroundings are borrowed from Western painting of the 17-19th century.
