Academy of Russian Literature

Not to be confused with the Academy of Russian Contemporary Literature , the Academy of Russian Literature and Fine Arts named after G.R.Derzhavin

The Academy of Russian Literature (ARS) is a creative union of Russian writers and cultural figures, established in 1997 by the Literary Institute. A. Gorky , Institute of the Russian language. A.S. Pushkin , the international community of book lovers.

The statutory goals of the ARS are "to protect the Russian literary language, to support educational and moral trends in book publishing, to consolidate all healthy creative forces and to strengthen the common spirituality of the whole of modern Russian society." [one]

Criticism refers to organizations of the national-patriotic direction (in contrast to the liberal Academy of Russian contemporary literature) [2] .

The ARS positions itself as a revival of the Russian Academy , founded by Catherine II in 1783 [3] , similar statements are also made by the ARSS and the ARSII named after Derzhavina.
