The early years

Born November 22, 1922 in the city of Baku in a peasant family. Azerbaijani . He graduated from Baku School No. 14 (according to other sources No. 132).

During the Great Patriotic War

In the Red Army since 1941 . In 1942 he graduated from the Stalingrad Military Aviation School .

On the fronts of World War II from October 1942 . He fought in the sky of Belarus , the Baltic states and East Prussia . He was shot down on March 14, 1943 near the city of Staraya Russa , but managed to bring his plane to the front line and jump with a parachute. Safely landed almost at the very front line and reached our positions.

By the end of 1944, Captain Kuliev made 265 sorties, and shot down 18 enemy aircraft in 54 air battles.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 23, 1945, the guard Captain Adil Huseyn oglu Kuliev was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 5932).

By May 9, 1945, it made about 265 sorties, conducted 64 air battles, and gained 20 personal victories in air battles [2] .

Peacetime

After the war he continued to serve in the Air Force.

He lived in the city of Baku . He worked as the head of Baku airport, the head of the department of the Azerbaijan Consumer Society. He died on December 16, 1992 . He was buried in Baku, on the Alley of Honor .

Rewards

He was awarded the Order of Lenin , three orders of the Red Banner , the order of Alexander Nevsky , two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree , the Order of the Red Star , and medals.
