Sorokin, Nikolai Tikhonovich

Nikolai Tikhonovich Sorokin ( January 19, 1900 , Kiev - March 16, 1984 , Tbilisi ) - Soviet chess player , master of sports of the USSR ( 1933 - 1935 and since 1956 - after the match with G. Fridshtein : +3 −3 = 8). Trainer. Lawyer. Member of the USSR Championships ( 1929 , 1931 and 1933). He successfully performed in the championships of Ukraine : 1924 - 3rd; 1925 - 2nd; 1926 - 4-6th; Georgia: 1928 and 1947 - 1-2nd, 1951 - 1st place. Member so-called eight tournament ( Tbilisi , 1942 ) - 5-6th place.
