Rakel ( German Rakel - scraper ) - an element of printing machines for screen , gravure printing and some electrographic devices.
In printing machines, it is an elastic steel tape that removes excess paint from the blank elements of the plate cylinder. In laser printing and photocopiers, the polymer squeegee removes excess toner that has not been transferred to paper from the drum unit . In full color laser printing, removes colorful powder from transfer belts. In screen printing, the squeegee is polymer or rubber, used to press ink through the printing plate.
Also, Rakel is a tool for removing excess air when gluing a film (vinyl). There are different sizes (10 mm, 27 mm, 30 mm, etc.) and materials (plastic, rubber, felt, wood, combined, etc.) squeegees.
