Here’s a complete list of episodes of the Star Trek science fiction series created by Gene Roddenberry and part of the Star Trek sci-fi saga [1] [2] . With the development of the franchise, the series retrospectively received the name Star Trek: The Original Series ( Eng. Star Trek: The Original Series ). Starring William Shatner in the role of Captain James T. Kirk , Leonard Nimoy in the role of Spock Vulcan and Deforest Kelly in the role of Dr. Leonard McCoy . The series was originally broadcast in the United States from September 1966 to June 1969 on the NBC channel [3] .
The television series consists of 79 episodes [3] in 3 seasons and one pilot episode (“ Cell ”), with a total of 80 episodes. The episodes in the tables are listed in the order of their broadcasting [4] , which corresponds to the official numbering on the re- mastered versions and released on Blu-ray . In official DVD releases, the episodes were arranged in accordance with the production order, the pilot episode " Cell " was placed on the last disc [5] . The list for each episode contains a stellar date (if known) according to the internal chronology of the fictional universe [6] .
After the series closed, Paramount Television began selling the rights to the television series as a syndication [7] , after which the popularity of Star Trek grew and it became a phenomenon in popular culture [8] . The popularity of the setting led to the expansion of the universe and the emergence of a fan movement of trackers . After the original series, as of 2018, 7 television series and 13 feature films were shot, many books were published [9] .
In 2006, CBS Paramount Domestic Television announced the re-syndication of the television series. Digital remastering was performed, the series in addition to high resolution received updated visual effects [10] . After re- mastering, the seasons of the original Star Trek were broadcast in standard definition , but also became available in high definition , including on Blu-ray Disc media [11] [12] . As part of the syndication, the updated series started on September 16, 2006 with the episode “ Balance of Fear ” (in some regions with Miri ) [13] and ended with the first pilot episode of The Cell on May 2, 2009 [14] .

Episodes
Pilot episodes: 1964–1965
The production of the pilot episode " Cell " lasted from November 1964 to January 1965 [21] . Starring Jeffrey Hunter as captain Christopher Pike , Mejel Barrett as Lieutenant Number One ( English Number One ) and Leonard Nimoy in the role of Spock [22] . The pilot was rejected by NBC , where he was considered, among other things, “too abstruse” [23] . Gene Roddenberry , the creator of the series, was asked to shoot the second pilot episode for the television channel [24] , by which time Jeffrey Hunter had refused to shoot [24] , actor William Shatner took his place, but already as captain Kirk . The second pilot episode was approved by NBC and in February 1966, the television channel announced the purchase of the series [25] . The co-pilot " Where the Human Foot Has Not Tread " with minor changes appeared on the air in 1966 as the third episode of the first season of the television series.
"Cell", by contrast, did not go on air during the first show of the series on NBC. After the series closed in 1969, Gene Roddenberry showed this episode at various sci-fi conventions. “Cell” was released on media for home viewing only in 1986, when Paramount Home Video released a “restored” episode, which combined original black-and-white frames and color fragments from the “ Menagerie ” episode, and the introduction from Roddenberry was also present in the episode.
On October 4, 1988, Paramount Pictures released a two-hour television special, hosted by Patrick Stewart , titled Star Trek Saga: From One Generation To The Next, which first featured a full-color television version of The Cell. In December 2001, the episode was first released in the United States on DVD. Later, he was included in the final disc in both the original and remastered DVD box set of the third season.

Season 1: 1966–1967
The first episode, entitled "Trap for Man" of the new television series "Star Trek," American viewers saw on NBC in the evening of September 8, 1966. The second pilot episode was the third episode of the first season shown on television; of the characters of "Cells" in the series, only the unemotional Vulcan Spock remained, whose role remained with Nimoy. In addition to Shetner in the role of Kirk, actors James Duchan joined the series as the chief engineer of Montgomery Scott , George Takei as the physicist (later helmsman) Hikaru Sulu , Deforest Kelly as the ship's surgeon Leonard McCoy and Nichelle Nichols as the communications officer Niyota Uhura .
Actress Mejel Barrett , who played the number one lieutenant in Cage, remained in the series, but now in the role of nurse Christine Chapel , in the new role, the actress first appeared in the episode " Time to Bare ." Actress Grace Lee Whitney appeared in the first season of the series in eight episodes as Captain Janice Rand's Quartermaster, leaving the screen after the episode " King ’s Conscience ."
The first season of Star Trek turned out to be the longest and contained 29 episodes, including an episode in two parts of The Menagerie containing frames from The Cell. The episode “Balance of Fear” introduces the audience to the novels , in the “ Mission of Mercy ” the Klingons first appear, “ Cosmic Seed ” talks about Han Nunyen Singh , who will become one of the most famous Star Trek antagonists, appearing in feature films. The Menagerie episode received the Hugo Award for Best Performance , and the episodes Korbomitny Maneuver and Time to Nudge were also nominated for the prize [34] .

Season 2: 1967–1968
Consisting of 26 episodes, the second season was broadcast in September 1967 [4] . In the same episode, Spock's home planet and other Vulcans were shown. Сезон 3: 1968–1969
Рейтинги второго сезона были не так высоки и это стало поводом NBC для закрытия сериала [38] [39] . Однако благодаря многочисленным письмам треккеров сериал был продлён ещё на один сезон [39] . Изначально телеканал пообещал транслировать третий сезон в вечерний прайм-тайм , в 19:30 по понедельникам [38] [39] , но позже сеть изменила вещание и трансляцию сериала передвинули на 22:00 в пятницу, он попал в так называемый , когда транслируют шоу, готовящиеся к закрытию [38] . К плохой организации [39] добавилось урезанное финансирование [38] , Нишель Николс описала возможную отмену сериала как самоисполняющееся пророчество [40] .
Трансляция последнего сезона «Звёздного пути», состоящего из 24 эпизодов началась в сентябре 1968 года с эпизода « Мозг Спока » [4] . Последний эпизод сериала, « Вторжение оборотня », вышел 3 июня 1969 года [4] . Оригинальный состав сериала вернулся на экраны в мультипликационной форме в 1973 году.
