Ishmael Noko ( October 29, 1943 ) - South African Lutheran pastor, Secretary General of the World Lutheran Federation (since 1994 ).
Born in Rhodesia . He graduated from the University of Pretoria , as well as the University of Zululand. In 1971, he received a bachelor's degree in art, and in 1974 a master's degree in the Lutheran Methodological Seminary in Saskatoon . Ordinated in Canada in 1972 . In 1977, he received a Ph.D. from McGill University ( Canada ). From 1977 to 1982 he worked at the University of Botswana . Awarded the Luther Prize ( 1994 ).
