Korah (or Korah ; Hebrew. קֹרַח ) is a character in the book of Numbers ( Num. 16: 1-40 ) from the tribe of Levites , great-grandson of Levi ; one of the leaders of the failed revolt against Aaron and Moses [3] .

Repeatedly mentioned in the Bible, where he is described as a rich man, dissatisfied with the rule of Moses and the priesthood of Aaron. Together with his followers - Dathan and Avronon - he came alive to hell with his property. The sons of Korea ( 1Par. 9:19 ) did not die, although the sons of Korea mentioned among the authors of the book of Psalms are most likely other people. Many Bible scholars believe that the prophet Samuel was one of the descendants of Korea.
