Zlatoust district was formed in November 1923. The center of the district was the city of Zlatoust .
As of January 1, 1926, the district was divided into 5 districts: Katav-Ivanovsky , Kusinsky , Miass , Minyarsky and Satkinsky .
July 30, 1930 Zlatoust district, like most other districts of the USSR, was abolished. Its areas were transferred directly to the Urals region.
The population of the district in 1926 was 239.5 thousand people. Of these, Russians - 95.2%; Tatars - 2.7%.
