Name Origin
In 1975, the northwestern part of the 7th Street of October Field was renamed in honor of K. A. Meretskov (1897-1968) - Marshal of the Soviet Union , Hero of the Soviet Union , participant in the civil and Soviet-Finnish wars, by the beginning of World War II, General army. During the war he commanded the armies, the Volkhov and Karelian fronts, since 1945 he served in the Far East. After the war he commanded the military districts. The southeastern part of the 7th Street of the October Field then became Marshal Malinovsky Street .
Description
Marshal Meretskov Street departs to the left of the People’s Militia Street approximately opposite Marshal Malinovsky Street and first winds around the city building (it goes around building 45 at the People’s Militia), then goes northwest parallel to Marshal Biryuzov Street , crosses Marshal Sokolovsky Street and ends on Marshal Konev Street . The buildings of the 1920s remained on the street, interspersed with buildings of the 1950s and later.
Transport
There are no public transport routes on the street. Prior to the intersection with Marshal Sokolovsky street is actually a pedestrian.
