Biography
Born in the family of Christian Josef Yageman , a scholar and librarian of the Duchess Anna Amalia of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach . His sister was the mistress of the Duke Carl Augustus of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach , and he patronized Ferdinand, sending him to study to the kasselsky artist Tishbeynu . Ferdinand was also a student at the court of the Weimar painter Georg Melchior Kraus and FΓΌger in Vienna . For study followed trips to Paris , and then to Italy .
Ferdinand Yageman had a chance to write portraits of famous people of his time. He gained the glory of the artist through his portraits of Johann Wolfgang Goethe . Also wrote a portrait of Schiller on his deathbed.
He died in the rank of professor of the Princely free school of drawing in Weimar. In memory of Ferdinand Yageman dedicated one of his speeches in the Masonic Lodge of Goethe. He was buried in the cemetery Jacobsfriedhof.
