Lanovoi, Vasily Semenovich

The son of Ukrainian peasants from the village of Strimba, Kodymsky district, Odessa region . In 1931-1932 they moved to Moscow , where they were called by his father’s brother. The workshop of the chemical plant where the parents worked since they moved to Moscow, from June 23, 1941 began to manually pour in anti-tank liquid and the Molotov cocktail ; five days later, according to Vasily, all 72 workers in the workshop "destroyed the nervous system of the arms and legs." They were immediately taken to sanatoriums, treated for years, but their mother remained an invalid of group I and the father of group II ^[2] .

7-year-old Vasily met the Great Patriotic War in the village of Strimba with his grandparents, where he came to visit from Moscow on June 22, 1941. The village was captured by the Nazis. For the sake of fun, a German soldier fired two automatic bursts over the head of an eight-year-old child, after which he stuttered violently ^[3] .

In 1947, he began to study at the theater studio at the ZIL Palace of Culture , where he received his first lessons in stage mastery. In 1951, at the All-Union Competition of Amateur Artists V. Lanova and I. Talankin were awarded diplomas.

He graduated from school with a gold medal. In 1953 he entered the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University , but studied there for only six months. Then he entered the B. Shchukin Theater School (now the Boris Schukin Theater Institute ). Even during his studies in 1954, he starred in his first film, " Certificate of Maturity, " and in 1956 he played the main role in the film " Pavel Korchagin ." In 1957 he graduated from the Theater School. B. Schukin (course of C. L. Mansurova ). During his studies, he met T.E. Samoilova , got married and lived with her for several years.

Since 1957 - actor of the State Academic Theater. E. Vakhtangov , where he played the roles of Fortinbras (“ Hamlet ”), Mayakovsky (“ Konarmia ”), Caesar (“ Anthony and Cleopatra ”), Pushkin (“Steps of the Commander”), Trotsky (“Brest Peace”), George Bernard Shaw ( “ Dear Liar ”) and many others.

At the same time starred in many films: “ Pavel Korchagin ” (1957), “ Scarlet Sails ” (1961), “ War and Peace ” (1965-1968), “ Officers ” (1971), “ Seventeen Moments of Spring ” (1973), “ Anna and the Commander "(1974)," Days of the Turbins "(1976), etc.

In 1979, he voiced the multi-part documentary "The Great Patriotic War ", created by filmmakers under the leadership of R. L. Carmen . His work was awarded the most prestigious award of the time - the Lenin.

Recognized master of the word of art. His creative programs include the poetry of A. Blok , A. Akhmatova , V. Mayakovsky , O. Berggolz , A. Pushkin and others.

Chairman of the Interregional Public Fund "Army and Culture" since 1995. Member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation , chairman of the Public Council commission on cultural and patronage work and interethnic relations. Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation of the second composition (2008-2010). Member of the Public Council ^[5] under the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation . Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the patriotic action " Immortal Regiment " ^[6] .

For more than 20 years he has been the head of the Artek Scarlet Sails International Children's Film Festival.

• second wife (from 1961 to 1971): Tamara Mikhailovna Zyablova (1929 - 1971), actress of the Moscow Drama Theater. A.S. Pushkin and television director; died in a car accident.
• third wife (since 1972): Irina Petrovna Kupchenko (born 1948), theater and film actress. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1989).
  • Alexander Vasilievich Lanovoi (b. 1973) - son, graduated from the History Department of Moscow State University
  • Sergey Vasilievich Lanovoi (1976 - 2013) - son, graduated from the Moscow State University , Department of Economics , worked at the Ministry of Finance , died of a heart attack
    • Anna is a granddaughter of Sergey’s son, was born out of wedlock ^[7]

He has been a member of the CPSU since 1968. Supports the Communist Party ^[8] . He also participated in the Russian March ^[9] .

March 11, 2014 signed a Collective appeal to the Russian public of cultural figures of Russia in support of the position of the President in Ukraine and Crimea ^[10] .

In the 2018 presidential election, he is the confidant of the candidate for President of Russia Vladimir Putin ^[11] .

In 2018, he was the confidant of the candidate for mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin ^[12] .
