Since 1910, it amounted to about 5 thousand tasks , mainly two-way . At the competitions he was awarded over 600 distinctions, including 120 first and about 100 second prizes. Along with K. Mansfield , A. Marie , M. Barulin, contributed to the revival of the strategic two- step approach in the 1920s and 1930s . The most valuable contribution was made to the development of the topic of direct unleashing ; hence the name "Ellerman unleashing." He actively collaborated with the well-known American society of problemists " Good Companion ."
