A bosonic star is a hypothetical astronomical object consisting of bosons (in contrast to ordinary stars , consisting mainly of fermions ). In order for such a type of stars to exist, stable bosons [1] must exist, having a low mass (the mass must be in the range from 10–27 to 10–24 GeV [2] ). As of 2002, there is no good reason to believe that such stars exist, and the only known stable boson is a photon - a massless particle that always moves at the speed of light. Binary boson stars can possibly be detected by the gravitational radiation emitted by them [3] [4] .
Bosonic stars could form as a result of gravitational collapse in the initial stages of the development of the Universe after the Big Bang [5] . A supermassive bosonic star can, at least theoretically, be in the center of the galaxy , and this can explain many of the observed properties of the active nuclei of galaxies [6] . Boson stars are also considered as possible components of dark matter . [7]
