Yuri Evgenievich Prokhorov (born March 23, 1948, Moscow) is a Russian linguist , doctor of pedagogical sciences , doctor of philological sciences , professor , rector of the State Institute of the Russian Language named after A.S. Pushkin " in 2001-2013. Chairman of the Coordinating Council of the Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature of Higher Education. Vice-President of the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature ( ROPRYAL [1] ). Deputy Secretary General of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature ( MAPRYAL [2] ). Editor-in-chief of the journal “Russian Language Abroad” [3] . The author of more than 170 scientific and educational publications, including 6 monographs , textbooks and dictionaries. Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation ( 2008 ). Laureate of the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation ( 2001 ).

Biography

From 1973 to the present - at the Russian Language Institute. A.S. In 1977 he defended his thesis “Linguistic and geographical description of Russian aphoristics for educational purposes”; in 1997 - a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences "National-cultural stereotypes of verbal communication and their role in teaching Russian as a foreign language"; in 2006 - a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philological Sciences “Concept, text, discourse in the structure and content of communication”. In 1997 he received the title of professor .

Yu. E. Prokhorov created an authoritative school to describe the relationship of language and culture with the aim of teaching them to foreigners. Under his leadership, 21 candidate dissertations were completed and defended, he acted as a consultant for 3 doctoral dissertations. Pupils of Yu. E. Prokhorov work only in Russia , but also in many foreign countries: China , Vietnam , Iran , Sudan , Poland , Slovakia , the Czech Republic , etc.

Recent works by Yu. E. Prokhorov make a significant contribution to the development of such a modern direction in domestic and world science as cognitive linguistics . He developed a description of the structure and content of verbal communication is an independent theory that has no analogues in linguistics.
