Odessa District is a unit of administrative division of the Ukrainian SSR , which existed from April 1923 to July 1930 . The administrative center is the city of Odessa .

It was founded in 1923 as part of the Odessa province .
In June 1925, the provinces in Ukraine were abolished and the district became directly subordinate to the Ukrainian SSR.
The district was abolished in July 1930, like most districts of the USSR. The districts were transferred directly to the Ukrainian SSR.
According to the 1926 census, the population was 860.8 thousand people. Including Ukrainians - 41.4%; Russians - 23.3%; Jews - 19.8%; Germans - 8.3%; Bulgarians - 2.3%; Moldavians - 1.9%; Poles - 1.3%.
Administrative Division
According to 1926, the district was divided into 16 districts: Anatolevsky , Antono-Kodintsovsky , Belyaevsky , Berezovsky , Grossulovsky , Zakharyevsky , Isaevsky , Manheim , Ovidiopolsky , Odessa , Petroverovsky , Severinovsky , Troitsky , Chernovsky , Tsebrikovsky and Yanovsky . In the same year, the Gross-Libenthal German National Region was formed.
