- In Novoagansk, at the local airport, the largest helicopter crash in the USSR occurred. At the crash site and in the village itself there are monuments to the dead [14] .
- In the national composition of Novoagansk there is a large proportion of Tatars, Bashkirs and Azerbaijanis. This is due to the fact that during the years of development of oil deposits in Western Siberia, many oil workers and their families moved here from regions with developed oil industries - Tatarstan , Bashkortostan and Azerbaijan .
