Content
History
In the epoch of Samkhan, the territory on which modern Sachkhon stands was owned by one of the twelve members of the Pyongkhan union, then became part of the Silla state. In 532 , the Samulkhyun municipal unit was formed here, in 757 it was included in the county of Coson . In 1015 Samul was renamed Sajou. The name Sachon first appeared in 1413 during the Joseon Dynasty . In 1895, Sachkhon received county (kun) status. The status of the city (si) was obtained in 1995. [one]
Geography
Located in the south of the Korean Peninsula on the shores of the Korean Strait . It has an advantageous transport position and a developed transport infrastructure. From east and south bordered by Koson and Namkhe counties. The northwestern part of the city is predominantly mountainous, where the city borders on Jinju and Hadon . Coastal plains stretch from north to south. The small rivers Sachkhon and Chukcheon flow through the city, as well as the Tokchon, which flows into the Chinyanho lake. Due to the proximity to the sea, the climate of the city is cooler in summer and warmer in winter than in other parts of the country. [2]

Economy
Sachhon is one of the largest industrial centers in the country. Here are located the production facilities of most large South Korean companies. Productions are integrated into industrial complexes, such as the Chins industrial complex, the Sonpo industrial complex and others. Among the goods produced are dominated by heavy goods and aerospace industry. [four]
Tourism and attractions
- Buddhist temples of Tasolsa (founded in the 6th century ) and Pacchhons (founded in the 8th century ). Both temples belong to the heyday of Korean Buddhism in the era of the early Korean state of United Silla . [five]
- Aerospace Museum, opened in 2002 . The total exposition area is 42 thousand m². The exhibition is divided into several rooms, there is an exhibition in the open. [6]
- Sachon Culture and Arts Festival - held annually in early May. The program includes a theatrical procession, a fair, fireworks, performances by folk groups, art exhibitions. [7]
