Appearance
Yoshi is depicted as a dinosaur moving on its hind legs. The color is most often green (although Yoshi also happens to be of other colors, sometimes it is called Green Yoshi , thus distinguishing one specific Mario friend from the entire Yoshi dinosaur people) [5] . It has an enlarged spherical nose, a short tail, a dorsal crest and a long sticky tongue, which it uses as a weapon and for obtaining food. In his debut game Super Mario World on Yoshi, a brown saddle and boots (which later became a traditional attribute for him). The original version had poorly developed forepaws - already in Yoshi's Island the design changed, and Yoshi got developed forelimbs resembling full-fledged human hands [6] .
Description of the character and his abilities
Yoshi is one of the most famous heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom. Its homeland is an island on which other Yoshi's dinosaurs live. Repeatedly helped the heroes of the games Mario in their struggle with Bowser and other villains. He looked after Mario and Luigi when they were babies, and protected them from the evil sorcerer Kamek and his minions. Like other dinosaurs, Yoshi uses his long tongue for food, and can swallow almost anything (even objects that are larger than it can be digested longer). Exceptions are rare, including the shell of Coop's turtles, which Yoshi is usually not able to digest, and therefore spits out (But in Super Mario World, Yoshi swallows the shell after 20 seconds). He likes melons very much. In the animated series (the series “Luigi Mommy”) swallows everything in a row, even Mario (who later spits it out) [7] .
The character is friendly, open. Yoshi is always ready to help someone in trouble, and once having set himself the task, he will not stop until he reaches his goal. As a rule, he is very brave (he boldly accepts a battle from an enemy that is superior in height). Due to its qualities, it often takes a leadership position in the Yoshi dinosaur clans [8] [9] .
Yoshi in the cinema
In the movie Mario Super Brothers , Yoshi looks like a miniature copy of a yellow Rex tyrannosaurus . According to Kupa , Yoshi has always been a favorite of the royal family. A good dinosaur, risking his life, saves his mistress - Princess Daisy [10] .
