Only by the Night was a commercial success and entered the top ten charts in 16 countries. Having received a platinum certificate 6 times [1] , he became the best-selling album of 2008 in Australia and the third in the UK, where he also won two Brit Awards . In addition, two singles from the album were successfully sold: “Sex On Fire” ranked first in Ireland, Great Britain, Australia and on the American Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart ; The second single, "Use Somebody," reached the second line in the UK and Australia, and also became the first hit of the group, included in the top ten of Billboard Hot 100 . The CD was nominated for a Grammy Award as the best rock album, and the song “Sex On Fire” received two nominations [2] .

Create and Write

In September 2007, soloist Caleb Falllow confirmed to New Musical Express magazine that the creation of songs for the next album began just a few days after the release of Because of the Times [3] . Recording took place in February 2008 at Blackbird Studios in Nashville. The producers were Angelo Petraglia and Jackewyer King. June 23 was the release date (September 22), as well as the name of the new album.

Release

The song “Crawl” was briefly posted on the band’s website for free download. However, the first single was “Sex On Fire” , released on September 15, 2008. On the same day, on Last.fm website, it was possible to listen to the entire album [4] . The music video was later available for viewing on the official website and YouTube channel . The song “Use Somebody” was released as the second single in December 2008 and became a big hit in the USA, reaching 4th place on the Billboard Hot 100 , as well as in the UK, Australia and several other countries. March 2, 2009 released the third single «Revelry» .

“Notion” became the fourth single from the album. The video was released on June 1, and the song appeared on the radio on June 29. It became another success of the group, reaching the first line in the Alternative Songs billboard chart. The song “Manhattan” has appeared on the Australian radio as the fourth single. She spent four weeks and reached the 38th place in the hit parade of singles [5] and to the second place in the national radio charts, as well as actively rotated on radio stations in the UK, such as Xfm .
