Biography
Born in Moscow . She studied in the studio of painting and drawing Ilya Mashkov , later in Kiev , Alexandra Exter [1] . She painted nude, portraits, landscapes, still lifes with flowers. In 1918–1919, under the name of Schlesinger, she participated in exhibitions of Moscow artists, including the exhibition of the Moscow Association of Artists (MTH), the exhibition of paintings by the Professional Union of Painters, in the 5th State exhibition of paintings "From Impressionism to Non-objectiveness", in the Exhibition of Paintings and sculptures of Jewish artists [2] .
In 1919-1920 lived in Tiflis . In the early 1920s she left for France and settled in Paris , in Montparnasse . In 1922, she exhibited her works in the Autumn Salon, the Independent Salon and the Tuileries Salon. In 1925, in the gallery of Charles Wildraka and in 1934 in the gallery "Barreiro" held personal exhibitions of the artist. She was acquainted with Zinaida Serebryakova , who also lived in Paris, wrote her portrait.
Vera Rokhlina committed suicide at the age of 38. An obituary in the journal " Russian thought " was written by Alexander Benoit .

- On June 24, 2008, at the Christie's auction, the canvas of Vera Rokhlin’s “Cartels” was sold for $ 4,040,954 [3] . Such a high price caused bewilderment of some specialists [4] .
