Development
Repetitive Manufacturing
After the completion of ground tests, without waiting for the completion of flight tests, on the initiative of the people's commissar D. F. Ustinov , it was decided to start mass production of the H-37 cannon at plant No. 74 . In 1947, 518 units were produced, in 1948 - 508, in 1949 - 1314, in 1950 - 3043, in 1951 - 3885, in 1952 - 4433, in 1953 - 4600, in 1954 - 1700, in 1956 - 285 guns. In 1957, the production of the NN-37 gun began, and the production of guns of the type H-37 was discontinued by 1960. The development of projectiles and fuses for them was carried out by GSKB-398, production was established there, at the pilot plant number 398 [1] .
The H-37 aircraft cannon was also manufactured in the People 's Republic of China under a license under the designation Type 30.
Options
- H-37: The first production version, with one H-37 cannon armed with a MiG-9 fighter, a Su-13 .
- H-37D : With a single-chamber muzzle brake with two rows of windows, this option was armed with MiG-15 , MiG-15bis and MiG-17 .
- H-37L : With a longer barrel and without self-supporting devices. The Yak-25 interceptor had two H-37L guns.
- NN-37 : Nudelman-Nemenov system gun, an upgraded version of the H-37. Armament Yak-27 consisted of two such guns.
