Johannes Nicholas (John) van 't Schip ( niderl. Johannes Nicolaas (John) van' t Schip ; December 30, 1963, Fort St. John , British Columbia , Canada ) - Dutch footballer and football coach . He played at midfield position. The pupil of Amsterdam " Ajax ", in the composition of this club spent 11 seasons, playing during this time 273 matches and scoring 29 goals. Completed playing career in the Italian " Genoa " in 1996.

Career

After completing his playing career he became the coach of the youthful team Ajax. From 2001 to 2002, he was an assistant to Ko Adrianse in Ajax, but after Adrian’s dismissal, John also left the club and became the head coach of Twente . In 2002, van 't Schip returned to the Amsterdam club and led the reserve team Ajax. From 2004 to 2008 he was an assistant to the head coach in the Dutch national team . In 2008, after being appointed as the head coach of Ajax Marco van Basten , John left the national team and returned to Ajax as an assistant coach.

On May 6, 2009, after the resignation of Marco van Basten, van 't Schip was appointed acting head coach of Ajax until June 30, 2009 [1] , but twenty days later, on May 26, van' t Schip as the head coach changed Martin Jol , who previously led the German " Hamburg " [2] . In October 2009, John led the Australian club " Melbourne Hart ", which was founded only in 2008, for the team van 't Schip became the first coach.
