Fish owls ( lat. Ketupa ) - a genus of birds from the family of owls , distributed exclusively in Asia . A number of specialists, guided by the results of recent DNA studies, suggest including species of this genus in the broader genus of owls ( Bubo ).

It includes the following types [1] :
- Himalayan Fish Eagle Owl ( Ketupa flavipes )
- Brown Fish Eagle Owl ( Ketupa zeylonensis )
- Malay Fish Eagle Owl ( Ketupa ketupu )
At the same time, the species of Fish Owl (Bubo blakistoni), in spite of its name, is considered by ornithologists as a representative of the Owl family, and not of the Fish Owl family.
