Alenia Aeronautica (formerly Alenia Spazio, Alenia Space) is an Italian aerospace and space corporation, a structural division of Finmeccanica . It was established in 1990 by highlighting the division involved in aerospace and military projects.

Independently and through joint projects with Europe, Brazil, the USA, the company created or participated in the creation of a number of military, training, military transport aircraft and passenger airliners.
By the orders of the Italian Space Agency (being its main subcontractor), the European Space Agency , NASA, the company created or participated in the creation of a number of satellites, interplanetary stations, Vega light launch vehicles and has unique European experience in manufacturing pressurized space modules: shuttle station laboratory SpaceSlab , the International Space Station (ISS) Columbus , Harmony , Tranquility , Dome and space shuttle multipurpose ISS (MPL) modules launched on the Shuttle M) Leonardo (then the Sealed Multifunctional Module ), Raphael and Donatello.
