History

During the years of World War II, the energy of the Pskov region was completely destroyed. All the equipment that survived was removed by the Nazis during the occupation . After the war, the region’s energy was rebuilt.

In the 50s - 60s. XX century, in the framework of electrification of agriculture and industry, a plan for the construction of a cascade of hydroelectric power stations on the Velikaya river system was developed and consistently implemented. [one]

At that time, about 40 small hydroelectric power stations were built in the region, for the most part they provided electricity to nearby agricultural enterprises and were built by their own efforts. Some of the hydropower plants worked until the 80s. [one]

In the early to mid-60s, in connection with the growth of production, there was a need to increase the consumption of electric power. It was at this time that power lines with voltages up to 110 kV began to be built and put into operation. The gradually developed network of 110/35/10/6 kV substations and power lines from the Leningrad and Tver (formerly Kalinin ) regions made it possible to provide the region's electricity needs. By the end of the 80s of the 20th century, the value of their own small hydropower plants began to decline and gradually some collapsed and fell into decay. Only two hydroelectric power stations remained in service - Shilskaya and Maksyutinskaya, the rest were partially dismantled and destroyed.

Existing Small Hydro Power

The existing small hydropower plants were commissioned in 1957-1958, the installed Voith equipment was morally and physically obsolete.

The structure of hydroelectric power plants includes: left-bank earthen dam, right-bank soil dam, reinforced concrete dam with spillway and water intake. [one]

Maksyutinskaya HPP

It was commissioned in 1957 . The power of the hydroelectric power station is 1.52 MW [1] . Located on the Velikaya River, in the vicinity of the village of Maksyutino, Sebezh district . An automobile bridge runs along the dam. It is owned by Nord Hydro CJSC [2] .

Shilskaya HPP

It was commissioned in 1958. Power - 1.52 MW [1] . Located on the Great River in the vicinity of the village of Shilskoye, Opochetsky district . It is owned by Nord Hydro CJSC [2] .

Abandoned Small Hydroelectric Power Station

Currently, all of them participate in various programs aimed at their repair, modernization and commissioning.

Poddubskaya HPP

It was commissioned in 1958. Power - 0.22 MW. Located on the Great River near the village of Podduby Pustoshkinsky district . It is owned by Nord Hydro CJSC, a restoration project is being developed [2] .

Kopylkovskaya HPP

It was commissioned in 1960. Power - 0.4 MW. It is located on the Great River near the village of Kopylok, Pustoshkinsky district . Sometimes it is called Kopylovskaya hydroelectric station. It is owned by Nord Hydro CJSC, a restoration project is being developed [2] .

The construction of this hydroelectric power station on Velikaya turned Lake Veryato into a reservoir in 1952, which included the nearby lakes Beloye , Volchenets , Kharinskoye . The reservoir area is 23 km², the usual depths are 9–16 m, the largest - 29 m. Due to the conservation of the Kopylkovskaya hydroelectric power station (in 1974), the reservoir level decreased by 3.5 m, and the shallow water was drained.

Rubilovskaya HPP

It was commissioned in 1961. Power - 1.00 MW. Located on the river Utroya in the village of Elina, Ostrovsky district . Built to provide energy to nearby state farms. After making a decision allowing the connection of farmland to state power networks in the late 1960s. hydroelectric power station operation was stopped. For 2015, the station is in a destroyed state - all metal equipment is missing. Used as a pedestrian bridge. It is owned by Nord Hydro CJSC, a restoration project is being developed [2] .

Toroshinskaya HPP

It is located at the confluence of the Pskovitsa River into the Pskov River near the village of Toroshino. Almost completely destroyed. From the automobile bridge you can see the skeleton of the dam and the skeleton of the building of the engine room. According to eyewitnesses, the hydroelectric station was equipped with a shandorny drainage system.

Krasnogorodskaya HPP

It was commissioned in 1953. Located on the Sinaya River in the village of Krasnogorodsk .

Today, the dam serves as a pedestrian crossing between the village and the volost. It was sold at auction in 2000-2006 for 309 thousand 750 rubles to a private person.

Bolshekhrapskaya HPP

It was commissioned in the 50s of the XX century. It is located on the Shelon River in the area of the village of Bolshaya Khrap, Vyazevskaya Volost, Dedovichi District . Power is about 0.1 MW.

The idea of construction was put forward in 1948. The construction was carried out by the forces of all the nearby collective farms of the Bolshekhrapsky village council in order to satisfy their needs for electricity.

Krasnoporozhskaya HPP

Located on the Sudoma River near the village of Dubrovochka, Vyazevsky Volost, Dedovichi District. It is owned by Nord Hydro CJSC, a restoration project is being developed [2] .

Currently used as a pedestrian bridge, the iron and concrete elements of the station have been preserved.
