Biography
Pavel Glazov was born in 1747 in the family of a college assessor (since 1874) and a deputy from the Oboyan nobility in the Commission to draw up a new code for Mikhail Faddeevich Glazov [1] .
April 27, 1763 entered the service in the Life Guards Equestrian Regiment with a raider. In 1768 he was promoted to the rank of Captenarmus; On September 16 of this year, his father, a member of the Code of Criminal Procedure , handed over his position to him for a while.
On January 1, 1769, he was promoted from vahmistra to lieutenant . He participated in the Russian-Turkish war in 1769-1773, was in the battles near Bucharest on October 20, 1770 and Silistria on June 18, 1773 and November 24, 1771 was awarded the rank of captain.
May 8, 1777 was promoted to second major, January 30, 1780 was appointed commander of the Life Hussar squadron. June 8, 1781 promoted to prime majors.
In the summer of 1783, he was sent by Potemkin , who patronized him, to Empress Catherine II with reports and in July was released back with a letter from Catherine to Potemkin. May 16, 1784 promoted to lieutenant colonel . On July 12, 1788, Glazov was again sent by Potemkin to St. Petersburg and, at the request of the prince, was promoted to colonel on July 14. On August 11, 1788 he was transferred to the Yekaterinoslav cuirassier regiment .
Taking part in the second Turkish war , he distinguished himself in a number of battles and on April 14, 1789 was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree (No. 279 according to the list of cavaliers Sudravsky and No. 595 according to the list of Grigorovich - Stepanov)

On May 19, 1790, he was appointed acting chief of the Moscow Chief Police Officer. On May 16, 1793, he was promoted to foreman with the appointment of Chief Police Officer, and on September 2 of the same year he was transferred to the same position in St. Petersburg .
According to the testimony of A.M. Gribovsky, Glazov appeared daily to the empress with a report on the welfare of the capital and on those who arrived in it. June 28, 1796 he was promoted to major general . By the highest order of Paul I of July 19, 1797, he was "dismissed from his inability to serve."
Pavel Mikhailovich Glazov died on May 16, 1814.
According to pastor Viganda Glazov, "he was not a very educated person, but he was extremely honest and extremely devout." Since 1791 he was married to Agrafen Petrovna Savyolova.
