The stationary concentration of a substance in the blood (Css) is the concentration of the drug that is established in the plasma (serum) of the blood when it enters the body at a constant speed.
- Sometimes the expression "equilibrium concentration of a substance" is used as a synonym.
The parameter is used in pharmacokinetics .
Use
With intermittent administration (administration) of the drug at equal intervals in equal doses, the maximum (Css max ) and minimum (Css min ) equilibrium concentrations are distinguished.
